Ulama-i-Hind condemns terror blast across London
New Delhi, July 7, 2005
Reacting to the terrorist
blast across London, Maulana Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiat
Ulama-i-Hind, New Delhi, expressed his deep shock and anguish. “It is
barbarous and inhuman,” Maulana Madani said. He added, “No religion
sanctions killing of innocent people irrespective of any cause one is
fighting for however sacred it could be and irrespective of any goal
targeted to be achieved however high it was. Life and property of any
citizen is more sacred and inviolable than any thing else. I condemn such
horrible crimes in harshest possible terms and appeal to all religious
leaders and organizations all over the world to realize their duty and
stand up against perpetrators of heinous crime against humanity. Yesterday
it was in Babri mosque complex at Ayodhya, today it is in London and
tomorrow it could be anywhere else. Any religion or any place, it is all
the same for the terrorists. They also must be all the same for us. Any
person, any denomination, organization or ideology that preaches,
encourages or sympathizes with terrorism must be condemned and
ostracized.”
